Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Guidelines

Pondicherry University is a Central University was established 1985 as a Institute of Higher Education and Research University. Since Inspection University place an enthusiastic target of reaching number one position in the Country.  To achieve the status, Teaching, Research, Training and Extension activities of the University will have to grow exponentially with high quality and excellence.  University Faculties/Research scholars have invented many Innovation things in their field of Research and patenting their Inventions.  University established IPR cell to create guidelines and facilitate the Faculties/Research scholars to patenting their inventions.  Presently, IPR cell is functioning under Research and Development cell, Pondicherry University. R&D cell is a single window system for applying Patents.  Faculties/Research scholars of the University can approach R&D cell for filing Patents, copy rights, etc. R&D cell will evaluate the inventions and recommend the invention for protection.  On Recommendation of the R&D cell concern Faculties/Research scholars can file the patent through the empanelled Attorney’s of the University.  Pondicherry University will provide financial assistance for IP filing as per University guidelines.
