I am Dr Sherry Abraham, serving as an Assistant Professor in Department of Tourism Studies in the School of Management in Pondicherry University since 2010 ( Total experience 29 Years). My area of interest is in Hospitality Management, Event and Recreation management, business communication, personality development and soft Skills.
My objective is to train and to develop tourism / Hospitality related skills, knowledge and practices within the community to ensure sustainability. To share my knowledge with student community and make them participate in the process of development of Nation and also to update my personal skills for the development of the organization and self with motivation and dedication.
I have co-authored 3 books, and contributed three modules for E Pathashala , Published 36 research papers in ( SCOPUS, UGC CARE LIST and Other approved journals), attended 27 International and 19 Nation conferences, have delivered 11 special lectures and also I am a member of 7 professional bodies in Tourism and Hospitality Management. I have visited 11 countries for professional and personal reasons.
Prior to this appointment I served as Assistant Professor & Coordinator for Masters programme, Department of Tourism, Faculty of Business & Economics, University of Gondar (UNDP), Ethiopia. December 2009-July 2010 ( On EOL) and before that I worked as Lecturer, State Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Trichy, (Government of Tamil Nadu) Continuing Education Cell Manager,(CICEP), Women in Development manager.(CICEP) August 1990 – December 2009.
