Vision of the Department

The Department of Applied Psychology envisions training students in the field of Applied Psychology, to meet the demand of the society so far as mental health and contemporary social issues are concerned, so that they become potential human resources for helping others in attaining happiness and contributing to the society as responsible citizens.

 Message of the Head of the Department

The Department offers two-year Post Graduate and PhD programs.

The two-year M.Sc. (Applied Psychology) program, taught by competent faculty members, instils in the students the professional competence and training to emerge as mental health professionals. The Department specializes in Clinical and Counselling Psychology as well as Human Resource Development. The Department is well equipped with state-of-the art laboratories and a well stacked library. The curriculum is integrated with field work in hospitals and industries, in association with NGOs and consultancy agencies.

The specialty of the Department of Applied Psychology, Pondicherry University lies in its experienced and committed faculty members who personally care for every student to make them understand the theoretical concepts and provide them hands-on training for the application of the principles of psychology in the field. I convey my best wishes to all the students in their personal and professional life and for their contribution to the society as a professional Psychologist.
