Dr.R.C. Anu Chandran, Professor in the Department of Tourism Studies, Pondicherry University in India has twenty-three years of teaching experience and one year and three months of administrative experience as Divisional Tourism Officer of Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department. Former Head of the Department was awarded Ph.D. in Management Studies from the Institute of Management in Kerala (IMK), University of Kerala, and has published seven books including The Flavors of Cultural Tourism Management by Authors Press and a volume of poetry titled Looking Beyond. Through international collaboration, released an Edited Book titled Tourism and Peace published by University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka. An M.Phil. in Futures Studies from the University of Kerala; Postgraduate in English Literature M.A. Lit from University College, Kerala University and Postgraduate in Tourism Administration (MTA from Pondicherry University); he also holds P.G. Diplomas in Journalism and Public Relations (SCMS, Kochi) and Psychology (DDE, Pondicherry University). Five Ph.D. works have been awarded and currently guides’ six research scholars. Published forty-two research papers and articles in international journals and thirty-nine papers in national journals including SCOPUS indexed. The publications appear in International Journal for Qualitative Research in Services, International Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Systems, Inderscience Enterprises, UK, and Revista de Cultura and Turismo – Brazil, Journal for Tourism Management Research, International Journal for Creative Research Thoughts (IJCRT), SAJOSPS, SAJTH, Journal Press – Vision, SCMS Journal of Management, JOHAR, ATNA, and ZENITH – EIJMMS among others.

He has published 24 chapters in national and international edited books. A registered consultant of the ADB, Dr. Anu also rendered consultancy work for the promotion of Odisha tourism destinations by Sand Pebbles Tour Company. Academic contributions also configure being the Chief Editor of Bharatha Pathrika Trilingual Journal, Editor of PUTSAL Newsletter- the biannual publication and Gamaya–the annual publication of DTS, and the Guest Editor of the Journal, Tourism: Theory and Practice. An alumna of Pondicherry University, he has Coordinated numerous seminars and conferences such as a National Seminar titled Indian Tourism – Opportunities Unlimited in 2007, an International Conference on Responsible Tourism during 7-9, December, 2019; a Webinar on Pro-poor Tourism on May, 22, 2020, the National Symposium on Spiritual Tourism June 20-22, 2023, and the National Technical Consultation on Coastal Tourism, January 24 & 25, 2024. Nominated as Cordinator of Tourism Course of DDE, Pondicherry University and Chairman, Dept. of Tourism Studies, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Learning, JNRM Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Dr. Anu presented research papers in twenty-three International Conferences and fifty-two National Conferences and Seminars. Globally, presented papers in Critical Studies in Tourism

International Conference organized by Asia Pacific, held at British University, Hanoi, Vietnam during 13-17, February 2023, and participated in the UNESCO and UNWTO Conference on Cultural Heritage Tourism held at Mascot, Oman during 7-9, December 2017. Visited Latvia in Nov, 2023 under Erasmus Faculty Mobility and delivered lectures and talks at the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, Latvia. Also participated in the Workshop oranised as part of the SIPAS Project of European Union held in Setubal Polytechnic University, Setubal, Portugal. Visited University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka as Expert for the Workshop on Tourism and Peace. Dr. Anu is the Project Co-Lead and Work Package 6 Leader of European Union funded project entitled Advancing Sustainability and Technology in Tourism, Hospitality, and Services through Strategic Industry Partnerships under ERASMUS (Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education). He was also the Project Coordinator of the Project awarded by Bureau of Indian Standards titled A Study on the Cruise Tourism operations and service parameters to establish guidelines and requirements for cruise service providers. He completed a project for the development of Backwater Tourism in Kerala. Bagged several awards namely six times Best Teacher Awards of Pondicherry University, Best Research Work Award, and Commendation Certificates.
