Research Area

I am working on molecular and morphological diversity of marine fungi from mangroves and ascomycetous fungi from terrestrial forests in Andaman Islands. Have 12 years of teaching & 25 years of research experiences. Carried out 2 research projects sponsored by MOES (on marine fungi) and SERB (on Andaman Ascomycetous fungi). Fungal isolates from these two projects & other sources are screened for anti-quorum sensing & enzymes in dye degradation. I have post-doctoral experiences from NIO, Goa, India & Hong Kong University. I had brief stints in industry including Biocon India Ltd. & at MCRC, Chennai as Senior Scientist.
