Dr T K Ravichandran is a well-known scholar in Tamil Studies. He has more than thirty years of experience in Literary Criticism and twenty three years of experience in collegiate education. He is very much interested in modern and postmodern literary criticism, particularly in the field of Psychoanalytic Criticism. It is his area of specialisation. He also interested in other disciplines like Folklore, Anthropology, Religion, Indology, Arts and Philosophy. He worked on Comparative studies, particularly in comparative study of theories. In psychoanalytic criticism, He shows equal focal length on Freud, Jung, and Lacan. He wrote 13 books of critical studies related to Psychoanalysis. His massive book on Freud (சிக்மண்ட் ஃப்ராய்ட்: உளப்பகுப்பாய்வு அறிவியல்) gives clear picture on Freudian Psychoanalysis in Tamil. He also wrote more than 40 research articles related to psychoanalytic criticism on literature, folklore, anthropology and so on. Apart from criticism, he is a translator and modern poet. He translated two books of Oxford University Press related to Psychology. He published a book of collection of modern poems. Moreover, he is an alumnus of this university.
