About the Centre
The Centre for European Studies of the Pondicherry University has an ongoing Research Project funded by SPARC(Scheme for the Promotion of Academic and Research Collboaration), an initiative by MHRD, facilitating academic and research colloborations between top ranked Indian Institutions and globally ranked Foreign Institutions. A Joint Research Project on "Engendering Development Goals, Action Plans and Strategies: Dialogues between India and Europe" has been initiated with the colloboration of the University of Lausanne, Switzerland and the University of Paris 13, France.
About Head
Professor
Prof. G. Chandhrika has been teaching and researching in the Department of History since 1992. She specialises in Historiography, Intellectual History, History of Women and History of Medicine. She recently completed a UGC major research project on “The Profession and Practice of Medicine in Colonial South India”. She has also received Pondicherry University’s Best Teacher Award for the years 2016 and 2018. She currently heads the Centre for European Studies and is engaged in an ongoing research project on “Engendering Development Goals, Strategies and Action Plans: A Dialogue between India and Europe”, funded by the MHRD, Government of India.

DOCUMENTATION CENTRE
The Documentation Centre is inaugurated in the premise of
the Centre on March 3, 2014, on the occasion of the international
Conference organised by the Centre. It houses books
and documents on several aspects of European Studies and
on India-European Union Relations for the use of students,
scholars and faculties.
