About the Department

The MBA programme at Pondicherry University Port Blair Campus in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands was initiated in the academic year 2021-2022 with the primary goal of addressing the limited exposure students face on the islands. Historically, students from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have had to travel to the mainland of India to pursue higher education in management, particularly MBA programs. Recognizing this gap, the MBA Programme was started to provide students with opportunities for quality management education without the need to leave the islands.

The Programme aims to bring MBA education to the global sector, offering specialized tracks in Human Resource Management, Marketing, Finance, Production, and Systems. These specializations cater to the diverse career aspirations and interests of students while ensuring that they receive comprehensive training in various aspects of management.

By offering these specialized tracks, the programme seeks to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to excel in their chosen fields and contribute meaningfully to the global business landscape. Through rigorous academic training, practical experiences, and exposure to real-world challenges, students are prepared to tackle complex management issues and make informed decisions in their professional lives.
