M.Tech. Network & Information Security

The M.Tech (Network & Information Security) programme is intended to offer specialization in advanced networks and cyber security. The phenomenal growth in computer networks has brought about many new advanced networks viz. Internet, cellular networks, Sensor Networks, Adhoc Networks, Vehicular Adhoc Networks, Mobile Adhoc Networks, IoT networks, Software Defined Networks, Cognitive Radio Networks, etc. These advanced networks bring in their own computational and cybersecurity challenges. The industry and academia are in need of professionals who are abreast of these networks and cybersecurity knowhow to design, build and manage these networks in a secure manner. Moreover, the academia needs network and cybersecurity experts who can perform research on niche areas to invent exemplary solutions to the various network and cybersecurity challenging problems. This programme is intended for developing human resources to address the above requirements.

Focus Areas

.

of the program

Advanced Networks

Advanced Networks: Designing and building advanced networks are the need of the hour to provide sophisticated network based services to users. Each of these advanced networks are based on a different technology, protocol, media, etc and have their own characteristic features and challenges. This programme is designed to impart knowledge required to design, construct and manage such advanced networks.

Cyber Security

Cyber Security: One of the important challenges brought about by the networks and network based applications is the cybersecurity threats and attacks. Technical competency with respect to concepts, algorithms and protocols which help to circumvent the Cybersecurity challenges is an indispensable know how which is imparted as part of this specialization degree.

Networks and Cybersecurity Management

The Technological Management aspects of the network and cybersecurity earn equal significance as their technical aspects. Industry and International best practices and standards in managing networks and cybersecurity and privacy management are stringently being followed across the globe by the industry and academia and seek inevitable aspect of the network and cybersecurity specialization.
