Research Area
Dr. K. Vijayarangamuthu is presently Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics, Pondicherry University. Before this, he received the DST-Inspire Faculty Award awarded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), India, with research grand and worked as Assistant Professor (DST-INSPIRE faculty Scheme) at the Centre for Nanoscience and Technology, Pondicherry University.
Before joining as INSPIRE faculty, he carried out his post-doctoral research work at INHA University, South Korea and the University of Ulsan, South Korea. During his career as a Postdoctoral fellow, he worked in the area of graphene and other 2D materials for energy and environmental-related applications. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Delhi, India and his doctoral research involved the synthesis and optical study of pure and oxide semiconductor systems.
Dr. Vijayarangamuthu’s research interests lie in the area of experimental condensed matter physics, includes van-der Waals layered materials and their heterostructures, Surface and interface study of 2D materials and metal oxides, and Materials for sensor, energy, and catalytic applications. He has more than 25+ publications in various peer-reviewed scientific journals. He has three Korean patents related to graphene technologies.
