Dr. Nagaraju Kanna

About
Research Area

My research interest is in the field of seismology and its application to Earth Study. I have been focusing on the mapping of local seismicity and its source mechanism and seismic structure of crust and upper mantle of Himalaya-Tibet zone to understand its geodynamics and plate tectonics. I also worked in different continental regions like India and Antarctica to understand their evolution. I use travel time analysis, Receiver Function modelling and seismic attenuation tomography seismological tools to map the Earth’s deep seismic structure and identify the rock composition.
