Prof. Dasthagir, a topper in high school and higher secondary school, Gold medalist (thrice) in first year, second year and third year of Graduation, University topper in Post-Graduation, UGC-NET with JRF in debut, besides holding Post-Graduate diplomas in Higher Education, Public Relations, Personnel Management and Industrial Relations and Ph.D, commenced teaching as lecturer and elevated as Associate Professor in The New College in 2010 and currently serving Pondicherry Universityas Professor since 2016. Dasthagir’s twenty-five years of research and teaching is credited with Young Social Scientist Award (1995), Youth Merit Award (1998), Best Employee State Award (2003 and 2008), Best Social Researcher Award (2008), Best Research Paper Awards (2008 and 2012), Outstanding Personality Award (2009), Best Teacher Award (2015), Outstanding Faculty Award (2016), Outstanding Employee State Award (2016-17), Alumni Achievement Award (2019).
