Dr. B. Sudhakar

About
Research Area

I obtained a Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore where I acquired experience in studying cell cycle regulation. Subsequently, I spent over 10 years in the USA as a full-time researcher at various reputed Universities. In late 2010, I moved to Pondicherry University and established a laboratory which focuses on the epigenetic mechanisms of eukaryotic cell proliferation and differentiation. We investigate i) transcriptional and translational regulation of major epigenetic regulators; DNMT3B, EZH2, CUL4B etc., ii) identification of novel DNMT3B splice variants from various cancer cells and stem cells differentiation, iii) effect of epigenetic regulators on neurodegenerative diseases.
