29th Annual Convocation of Pondicherry University was held on 28.02.2023 at J.N. Auditorium. Ministers of Govt. of Puducherry, MPs (Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha), MLA (Kalapet), & Director, JIPMER attended the Convocation and distributed various Degrees and Gold Medals to students.

Prof. Gurmeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Pondicherry University inaugurated the Refresher Course on “Effective Teaching Skills” organised by UGC-HRDC on 22.02.2023. As part of the event, Prof. Gurmeet Singh released the UGC-HRDC Newsletter.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Gurmeet Singh, delivering Special Address in the Capacity Building Programme on BIMSTEC Regional Trade Analysis held on 17.02.2023 at Hotel Accord. The programme was jointly organised by RIS, IFPRI and Pondicherry University.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Gurmeet Singh, inaugurated the Author Workshop on “How to get published in an Academic Journal” and addressed the participants on 16.02.23 at J.N. Auditorium. The programme was organised by Ananda Rangapillai Library, PU in collaboration with Oxford University Press.

Interactive Session on Collaboration with Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi held on 16.02.2023. Deans, HoD, Officers and Staff of PU participated. Prof. Gurmeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor chaired the session

Distinguished Leadership Award 2023 has been conferred to the Prof. Gurmeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor by the Society for Plant Research during the International Conference cum Workshop on “Plant Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics” held during 13-15 February, 2023 at Pondicherry University.

Prof. Gurmeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor appreciated the NSS volunteers for the successful participation in the 26th National Youth Festival held at Hubballi-Dharwad from 11th-16th Jan. 2023 which was organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, GoI, in association with Govt. of Karnataka”

Our honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Gurmeet Singh, has been conferred the Order of the Illustrious Stephanian Award by St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. The honour is in recognition of his contribution to teaching and research and also for serving as a role model for society
