The students of PG Diploma in Criminology and Forensic Science, School of Law had made a visit to the Central Prison, Puducherry on 28^th April, 2022. The students had hands on experience of how the Prison system works. They met the under-trial prisoners, visited the cells where they were kept. They had a detailed understanding about the nature of offences that they were involved in, what kind of works they were undertaking on a daily basis, what food are they given, what kind of activities they do inside the prison and many such things. The female students also visited the women cell division and interacted with some of the inmates. The jail superintendent elaborated about the prison reforms, the training the inmates were given and also interacted with the students. Overall it was a learning experience for all of them.

The Jail administration was very supportive and they had extended their full support throughout the visit. They also ensured that they will be very happy to extend their support in future also.
