Our eminent Vice-Chancellor, Prof. P. Prakash Babu, met Dr. Hsing-Pang Hsieh and Dr. Kun-Hung Lee from the National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), Taiwan, on 29th October 2025. The visit was part of an ongoing India–Taiwan collaborative research project, jointly led by Dr. S. Mohane Coumar and Prof. A. Dinakara Rao from the Dept. of Bioinformatics, PU. The meeting focused on strengthening collaborative research in drug discovery and biomedical sciences.

Bioinformatics and Drug Discovery Society (BIDDS) has conferred the “Life Time Achievement Award” on Prof. P. Prakash Babu, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of PU, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to academic and scientific leadership and his pioneering research in the fields of Neuroscience and Drug Discovery. The award was presented on 29th October 2025, during the Inaugural Ceremony of the International Conference cum Workshop “Global Summit on Innovative Drug Design, Discovery, and Translational Research”, organized by the Dept of Bioinformatics, PU.

Our esteemed Vice-Chancellor, Prof. P. Prakash Babu, delivered the Presidential Address and inaugurated the International Conference cum Workshop “Global Summit on Innovative Drug Design, Discovery and Translational Research”, organized by the Dept of Bioinformatics, PU, in collaboration with the Bioinformatics and Drug Discovery Society (BIDDS) on 29th October 2025. Prof. P. Prakash Babu highlighted the need for integrative and interdisciplinary approaches to accelerate modern drug discovery and therapeutic development.

The Local Administration Dept., Govt. of Puducherry, presented PU with an ‘Appreciation Award’, in recognition of the University’s outstanding performance under the Swachhata Hi Seva – Swachhotsav 2025 campaign, which highlights the theme ‘Cleanliness is a Moral Discipline’, organized by Oulgaret Municipality. The Team handed over the ‘Appreciation Award’ and ‘Certificate’ to our Honorable Vice-Chancellor.
