Instructions for M.Tech. Computational Biology PG Programme - Candidates

  • Allotment is made based on the rank of candidates, preference of program and seats available under various categories of each program.

  • Please note that NO separate select card/call letters/admission information will be sent to Selected/Wait listed candidates.
  • Original Certificates/documents to be required for admission
    1. X Std or equivalent certificate/mark statement along with age proof.
    2. H.Sc. or its equivalent certificate/mark Statement
    3. Degree/Provisional certificate of the qualifying Degree Examination along with mark statements.
    4. OBC with Non- Creamy Layer certificate/EWS recently issued (i.e. issued after 1 st January, 2020) by competent Authority, in case of OBC/EWS candidates respectively ( EWS Certificate Format ).
    5. Recently issued SC/ST/PH/Pondicherry Residence certificate/Karaikal Residence Certificate from competent authority as applicable
    6. Migration/Transfer certificate and conduct certificate from the institution last studied.
    7. Original GAT-B Score
    8. Recently taken two stamp size colour photographs (For Group Medical Insurance Policy)
    9. Soft copy of colour passport size photograph in a CD (for Library and ID Card )
    10. Xerox copy (one set) of all the available certificates without fail.
      Candidates whose final exam result is awaited, may also report for admission with all the available certificates & mark statements. They will be considered for admission only on provisional basis, subject to production of final mark list & provisional certificate on or before December 15, 2020.
  • Payment of Fees
    The fee details are given below. Necessary arrangements have been made for payment of fees through online mode at the time of admission.

  • The SC/ST candidates who are eligible for Post-matric scholarships/Top class scholarships are permitted to pay the prescribed fees as soon as they receive the scholarship amount by submission of an undertaking to this effect at the time of admission.
  • In any case, such SC/ST students should pay the fees within 90 days from the date of admission either through the said scholarship or on their own failing which the admission stands cancelled.
  • However, such SC/ST students should pay the fee for the group medical insurance and the caution deposit at the time of admission.
  • Hostel Accommodation
    1. After obtaining admission in the concerned department, based on the availability, the accommodation will be allotted in the Hostel on payment of prescribed Hostel Fees.
    2. Regular classes for first year of the Post Graduate Courses likely to commence on November 25, 2020 through online/offline mode.

    1. The candidates in the Selected List as listed in   in the University web portal are  required to confirm their acceptance of the offer of  provisional admission by making payment of fees  through Admissions portal of the University. If they fail to pay the fees on or before the prescribed deadlines listed below, then their provisional offer of Admission shall automatically stand cancelled.
    2. Vacancies thus arising shall be filled by candidates next in the merit order for each PG programme. This list of candidates shall be notified on the University web portal and these candidates shall be allowed to make Online Fees Payment as scheduled below:

Selected List (II) : November 18th, 2020 to November 22nd, 2020
Visit the University web site regularly for any announcements/updates regarding admission.
    1. Candidates who are provisionally admitted (paid fees) shall report in person to the respective Dean/Head/Centre Head only on the OPENING Day, to be intimated in due course of time, of the Campus along with proof of payment of fees and relevant documents, original certificates as specified under General Instructions.


  • The online classes for the 1st Year Students shall commence, tentatively, on  November 25,2020.

PRE-REQUISITES to Make Online Fees Payment

    1. Candidates are advised to get the following ready before making online payment:
      • Undertaking Form : to  Download, Fill up, Sign, Scan and Upload as .pdf
      • Copy of SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PH Certificate if any: to Scan and Upload as .pdf
    2. Modes of Fee Payment
      Candidate can choose to pay using
      • Debit Card
      • Credit Card
      • Net Banking
      • Indian Bank Challan (once challan option is chosen other payment options will not be available)
    • Note: When Challan option is chosen, a Challan will be generated and displayed on the screen. Candidate has to take a print out of the Challan and make the payment at any of the Indian Bank counters within TWO days from the date of Generation of the Challan and before the prescribed DEADLINE. Else it becomes invalid.
  • If Final year/semester results are not available, the Final year/semester results may be produced before 31.12.2020. Other certificates shall be produced now.
  • After payment of fees and getting admission confirmed, the students have to send scanned copy of all essential certificates as specified under General Instructions (Sl.No.2) to the Centre Head for verification to
  • Refund of fees 
    1. The Request Form for withdrawal of admission and refund of Fees paid may be downloaded,  filled, signed, scanned and sent to the email id
    2. Full refund of Fees paid except Group Medical Insurance fee will be made, if  withdrawal/ cancellation request is made on or before 30.11.2020.
    3. Cancellation/ Withdrawal requests made thereafter and upto 31.12.2020, refund will be made  after deducting Rs. 1000 + Group Medical Insurance fee from the Fees paid.
    4. All fees refund  shall be made to the same bank account where the fees was paid by the candidate.
