Nagarajan Velmurugan, (M ’09) and (SM’12) is a Professor at the Department of Electronics Engineering., Pondicherry University. He received his Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and his Doctorate in Wireless Communication from Pondicherry Engineering College (Now Pondicherry Technical University), Pondicherry University (Central). He has two decades plus research and academic experience and held various research and academic posts since 2002 when he was with APEC, Melmaruvathur. During his tenure at APEC, in 2016, he was honored with the Vice Principal position and served in the post from 2016 until 2023. His areas of interest include wireless communication, Signal processing, IoT, Machine learning application to wireless communication and Sensor networks.
Nagarajan Velmurugan has co-authored 6 books totalling about 1200 pages and 200+ research papers and book chapters. He is the founding Chair of IEEE technically co-sponsored conference ICCSP which completed 9 successful editions. He has delivered talks at numerous tutorials and keynote lectures at international conference. He is a student project subcommittee chairman and member of the Communication Society as well as a senior member of IEEE and Fellow of IETE. Furthermore, during 2012-2017. Nagarajan Velmurugan served as an Associate Editor and guest edited of 6 special issues in Elsevier Journal on the computer and electrical engineering. He has been awarded a number of distinctions, such as the IEEE Best Project Award and Best Professor Award. He has successfully graduated with 24 Ph.D.s. Furthermore, he has received research funds from DST, IEEE, and TNSC for his various research projects.
