Research Area
An alumna of AJK Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC), Jamia Millia Islamia, Dr. Radhika Khanna started her career as an actor-teacher under the eminent theatre director Barry John. She is a National Geographic certified educator and a trainer in Theatre-in-Education, E-content & MOOCs development. Since 1992, she has also engaged with teacher education & life skills development of learners. Commended for the Global Communication for Social Change award by the University of Queensland, she received the Best MOOC Award for her SWAYAM MOOC on Photojournalism by CEC-UGC in 2023.
Pedagogy of Cinema, Participatory Culture and Collaboration in Engaging Students with Digital Media and Learning, Facilitating Student Engagement in Communication for Social Change and Impact of Creative Pedagogies on Media Education. Her areas of practice-based research focus on evolving innovative and responsive pedagogy towards meeting the educational needs of students, teachers and teacher educators. She has examined and endeavoured to bridge the divide between cognitive and experiential learning through the use of interdisciplinary skills and knowledge, drawing on journalism, filmmaking, photography, art, multimedia production, Content Management System, Learning Management System, flipped and blended learning, Yoga, and meditation. She has also explored the efficacy of Theatre-in-Education, ICT skills in education, MOOCs, intrapersonal & interpersonal communication, public speaking skills and arts in education as cross-over methods for facilitating active learning with the aim of developing the attitudes, skills and knowledge of learners.
