Research Area
An alumni of University of Delhi, with over 2.5 decades of teaching experience and a brief stint in Corporate HR, Prof. R. Nalini is well known nationally as a passionate social work professional. She has 6 projects inclusive of the ongoing one on substance abuse prevention funded by ICMR; one of her recent Scopus indexed publications won the top downloaded article award. She is the first head of the Dept. of Social Work and served over four years as Head (i/c), Centre for Women’s Studies. During her second term as Head, she spearheaded the COVID-19 relief and response initiatives of her Dept. of Social Work collaborating with government and industry partners. Her area of interest is women and work; she served as Chairperson, CII-IWN, Puducherry. A certified POSH trainer, she is invited across sectors of the workplace for sensitizing various stakeholders. She serves as an expert for awareness and prevention of substance abuse which is also her area of research, currently. She has been elected as Joint Secretary, National Association of Professional Social Workers in India (NAPSWI) in October 2024.
