I am a marine biologist with a Masters in Marine Biology & Oceanography from the pioneer Institute Centre of Advanced study in Marine Biology, Annamalai University followed with PhD from the same Institute with specialization in Marine Microbiology on Anaerobic bacteria. Got Trained in Anaerobic Microbiology in University of Iowa,Iowa followed by a summer program- Microbial Diversity from Woodshole Oceanography Institute Massachusetts with Dr Bernie Award. Have presented research papers in International Forum in California- USA , Mombasa -Kenya, Shibuoka -Japan. Have Oceanic research experience by participating in more than 6 Oceanic cruises and as Chief scientists in 14 coastal cruises. Senior Research Associate in major Research Programs like JGOFS , COMAPS . Have worked in CSIR Laboratory – National Institute of Oceanography for 2 years and have industrial research Experience as head of R& D laboratory for 6 years. Teaching experience of 17 years and awarded best teacher award 3 times. Delivered several invited lectures apart from attending many training programs. Guided 7 Doctorate students operated one research project and presently guiding 4 scholars. Published more than 57 research papers in peer reviewed journal. Organised the Regional Science Congress of Indian Science congress- Puducherry Chapter.Member of many scientific bodies.
