About
Research Area
I am teaching Proteomics, Genomics, and Clinical Biochemistry subjects for PG students. We have published 41 international research papers and edited three books with an H index of 23. My research area is focused on DNA damage response, Translation regulation and anti-aging. We are studying the therapeutic potentials of natural compounds to target gene-deficient cells using the Saccharomyces Cerevisiae gene deletion library and mammalian cell culture model. In addition, the anti-aging properties of natural compounds and their mechanisms of action are also being studied.
We have published our research work in reputed journals such as Biogerontology, FEMS yeast research and FEBS Letters. I have completed 3-projects and 1 is ongoing, guided 3-Ph.D students, and received many awards, including the TECT best-published paper award (2025). My previous experience at IISc, Bangalore, New York State Dept. of Health, and State University of New York, USA helped me enhance my teaching and research.
