About
Research Area

After graduating (Ph.D) from University of Hyderabad, my POST-DOC research was in the field of hard & low friction coefficient coatings and plasmonic metal-nanostructures (for Nanotribology and Flexible Device applications) from European FOREMOST project (University of Coimbra, Coimbra, Portugal) and BK-21 (KAIST, Daejeon, South Korea) Fellowships. Research work presented in a various international meetings held at Belarus, Portugal, Slovenia, Germany, Spain, France and South Korea. Received Young Scientist Award (Fast Track Project) from DST in the year of 2013. Received Doctoral Fellowship under University with Potential for Excellence scheme (UPE, UOHYD, 2003-06). Currently working in the research topics of SERS based Biosensors and Thin Film Solar cells. Our group explores the feasibility of developing lable-free surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) based Biosensors and thin film solar cells. Optically SPR tuned SERS substrates comprising noble metals, bi-metals, tri-metals, alloys, metal-dielectric (bilayer & composite) fabricated by PVD techniques and demonstrated their potential for clinical diagnostic applications through testing various biomolecules like Haemoglobin, ฮป-DNA, glucose, monomers and proteins at atto-molar concentrations using Raman spectrometer. On the other side, this lab aims to improve the efficiency of thin-film (plasmonic) solar cells through innovative material synthesis and device engineering. It mainly focuses on band structure tuning in p-type absorber layers both oxides and sulphides. This work integrates materials design and device optimization for sustainable energy applications. Lab is equipped with major instruments like RF-DC Magnetron sputtering system, Co-Thermal Evaporation and IPCE measurement systems.
