The Department of Library and Information Science, in collaboration with Pondicherry University’s Institution’s Innovation Council, organized a half-day workshop on “Scholarly Communication” on February 6, 2026, attracting 82 enthusiastic participants. The event was inaugurated by Prof. R. Sevukan, Dean of the School of Media and Communication, who emphasized academic publishing and research dissemination and coordinated by Prof. Rekha R. V., Head of the Department. Dr. M. Singson led the first session on effective scholarly communication, journal selection criteria, communication modes and responsible AI use in research, while Prof. Jeyshankar’s second session addressed predatory publications, unethical practices and identifying credible journals. The highly interactive workshop provided valuable insights into scholarly publishing, concluding successfully with positive participant feedback.
