The Dept. of Tourism Studies organised the pioneer academic event, viz, the National Symposium on Spiritual tourism during 21, 22 & 23 June, 2023.   Sri.K.Lakshminarayanan, Hon. Minister for Tourism, Govt. of Puducherry inaugurated the event. Vice-Chancellor Prof.Gurmeet Singh presided the inaugural session attended by Prof.P.K.Singh, Director, IIM, Trichy, Prof.Alka Das Mohapatra, VC of Odisha State Open University, and Sri.Pradeep Narang, Chairman, Sri Aurobindo Society. Dr.R.C.Anu Chandran, Head and Organising Secretary delivered the Welcome Address and Prof.Sampada Kumar Swain rendered the Scope. Ms.Reena Esther Rani, Lead Scholar Coordinator proposed Vote of Thanks. The  Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India sponsored Symposium configured Workshops and Demos on Music Therapy and Tibetan Sound Healing, Tai Chi and Qigong, Cosmic Dance, Mindfulness Meditation, Basics of Yoga Asanas, Wellness and Spirituality, Vedic Chanting besides Panel Discussions and Special Lectures.
