Dr. A. Sreekumar is a Professor in the Department of Green Energy Technology at Pondicherry University. He holds a Ph.D. in Solar Thermal Engineering from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi, India, and M.Tech in Energy Management from DAVV, Indore, India. Notably, in 2024, for the fourth consecutive time, Dr. Sreekumar has been recognized among the top 2% of the world’s most influential scientists in the Energy-Mechanical category, as acknowledged by Stanford University. As a Principal Investigator, Dr. A. Sreekumar has led research projects totaling over โ‚น1.0 crore at the university, funded by esteemed organizations such as the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), and University Grants Commission (UGC).

Dr. Sreekumar boasts extensive work experience in both industries and educational institutions within the renewable energy sector. He has held key positions, including Head and Senior Scientist at the Solar Energy Division of Sardar Patel Renewable Energy Research Institute (SPRERI), Gujarat, India. During his tenure at SPRERI, he led as the Principal Investigator of the Regional Test Centre-cum-Technical backup unit for Solar Thermal Devices, sponsored by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), GoI. Additionally, he served as a Scientist at the World Institute of Sustainable Energy (WISE), Pune, India, and held the position of Asst. General Manager (Projects) & Head (R&D) at Cargo Power and Infrastructure Ltd., Gujarat, India.

Dr. Sreekumar is a Certified Energy Manager accredited by the Ministry of Power, GoI. He has shared his expertise through numerous lectures and technical speeches on renewable energy, both in India and abroad.ย  He has authored a book โ€œSolar Thermal Energy: Including Laboratory Experimentsโ€ published by New Age International Publishers, New Delhi, India. His research contributions are widely recognized, with several publications in esteemed national and international journals.
