Research Area
Dr. Manisha Kumari is an Associate Professor in Department of Earth Sciences, Pondicherry University with over 15 years of teaching experience. She has been teaching Paleontology, Micropaleontology, Stratigraphy, Sedimentology, Climatology, Oceanography, Marine Geology. Besides, she has been involved in various academic and administrative activities, training and guiding students in field studies and research work.
Her research is focused on the study of Jurassic-Cretaceous faunal remains in order to develop the palaeoecology, palaeoenvironment, paleobiogeography and biostratigraphy of the fossil-bearing strata through the ages in regional as well as global perspectives. The paleoenvironmental and paleobiogeographic analyses contribute to broader discussions regarding Jurassic-Cretaceous climate patterns, oceanic circulation and the biogeographic implications of Gondwana fragmentation.
