About the Ramanujan Mathematical Society

The Ramanujan Mathematical Society (RMS), founded in 1985, has the main purpose of promoting Mathematics at all levels. From the year of inception, the society has received immense support from mathematics fraternity both in India and abroad. It has received major grants from NBHM and DST. Through its five publications: Journal of the RMS, Lecture Notes Series, Collected Works Series, Little Mathematical Treasures, and the Newsletter, the Society has been carrying out its unstinted efforts in the spread of Mathematics. The Society has also been organizing major regional programmes such as Outreach Programs for postgraduate students, Undergraduate Teachers Enrichment Programs, and a joint program with Aziz Premji University for High School Teachers in Mathematics.

About 34th Annual Conference

The purpose of the conference is to bring together experts in Mathematics from various institutions in India and other countries to have lectures and informal discussions. Many well-known professors and young research workers in various fields of mathematics and its applications are being invited to create opportunities for future collaboration and to bring awareness of the opportunities available for future mathematicians, particularly graduate students. The proposed conference is intended for three days (August 1-3, 2019) with several invited talks, some plenary lectures and paper and poster presentations by young research scholars.

Commutative Algebra, Graph Theory, Hydrodynamic Stability, Number Theory, Numerical Analysis and Topological Dynamics, Discrete Mathematics, Geometric Function Theory, Meromorphic Functions, Operator Theory. The conference is not only restricted to the above mentioned topic and covers a wider scope.

About Pondicherry University

Pondicherry University is a Central University established in October 1985. The university is located at Kalapet, Puducherry, and is 160 km from Chennai along East Coast Road and 12 km from Puducherry bus stand. The University is spread over 780 acres of lush green land and has excellent ambience conducive for studies and research.

About the Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics Pondicherry University was established in 1986. The department offers M.Sc. and Ph.D. programmes in Mathematics. In addition, a 5-year integrated M.Sc. programme in Mathematics is also offered. Good computing and internet facilities are available for academic activities. The department has received funds under DST - FIST and UGC - SAP (DRS - II). NBHM supports this department with book grants. The following are the main research areas of the department: Algebra, Fuzzy clustering in High Dimensional Data Analysis, Graph Theory, Hydrodynamic Stability, Number Theory, Differential Equation, Numerical Analysis and Topological Dynamics.

About Pondicherry

Pondicherry, a French colonial settlement in India until 1954, is now a Union Territory. The coastal town of Pondicherry with a French ambience is known for its serene atmosphere. Legend associates ancient Pondicherry with great Hindu sage Agastya. Sri Aurobindo Ashram and the nearby Auroville International Township lend a unique spiritual flavour to the city. The city nurtured two great Tamil revolutionary poets, Sri Subramani Bharathi and Sri Bharatidasan. The climate is tropical (between 18oC and 38oC) with two monsoons, having fairly heavy rainfall in November and very moderate rainfall in July. Pondicherry is 160 km south of Chennai and is well connected by bus through East Coast Road (ECR). The frequency of bus service from Chennai to Pondicherry is high (every 20 min.) and hence the preferred mode of transport. Rail connections are available via Villupuram (Chennai - Villupuram - Pondicherry).
