Dr. R. Venkatesan

About
Research Area

I am a physical chemist and with my expertise in electrochemistry, I develop energy materials, sensors, study properties of materials and electrochemical reaction mechanism. With my background in synthesis of photoactive compounds I also study of photoprocesses including excited state electron transfer and energy transfer, molecular photocells, non-linear optical properties, fast reaction kinetics and related fields.
From 1992 onwards, I am involved in teaching from first level courses to advanced level. My main subjects of tutoring are equilibrium, statistical and non-equilibrium thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, spectroscopy, analytical techniques. I also work in using technology for better classroom activities.
