1. Caritor (Keane) has signed an partnership agreement with Pondicherry University. Various collaborations are in the planning phase.
2. L&T Infotech has agreed to train on senior faculty member of the Department of Computer Science of Pondicherry University. The trained faculty will in turn train the L&T Infotech new recruits.
3. Satyam, Bangalore has come forward to enter into collaborations with Pondicherry University. Satyam has been discussing with us regarding setting up of an Aumotive Electronics laboratory.
4. Google organized an event called “Product Prodigy” (Product Engineering Competition) for which couple of students of Computer Science have submitted their project proposals.
5. Infosys, Mysore organized an “Young Women Engineers’ Meet” at Mysore on August 28th and 29th. Women Students from the consortium colleges had been nominated the programme.
6. Caritor (Keane) has accepted to give academic projects to the students. MCA students of the Department of Computer Science of Pondicherry University and from consortium colleges have been given opportunity to pursue their traineeship and Keane.
7. TCS, as part of the MoU signed, has agreed to give opportunity for the TCS placed students to do project internships at TCS. Students of Computer Science Department and Consortium colleges have been given opportunity to pursue Internships at TCS.
8. Workshop on “Software Development Life Cycle” was organized on August 8th and 9th, 2007. More than 100 students from the Department of Computer Science of Pondicherry University and from the Consortium Colleges participated in the Programme and benefited.
9. Workshop on “Balance Score Card” was organized for the benefit of the students and faculty members from the Department of Banking Technology and Department of International Business of Pondicherry University.
10. A “Soft Skills” training programme was organized for the students of the four MBA programmes of Pondicherry University. Mr. Vijayakumar, President of WORLD Trust Organization and his colleagues were the resource persons of this training programme. More than 120 candidates participated in the programme.
11. A training programme was organized on October 24, 2007, for the benefit of the students from the four MBA programmes our University just before the beginning of the 2008 batch MBA placements. Mr.Sunil, Senior HR Manager from Tata Consultancy Services was the resource person of the Programme.
12. The Placement Cell used its effort to get officers from the industry to act as examiners for the Comprehensive Viva Voce of the Department of Management Studies.
13. Faculty Development Programme on the topic “Leveraging the Curriculum and Building the Competancy of the PG and UG Students” was organized on September 7, 2007 for the benefit of the Faculty members from the Department of Computer Science of Pondicherry University and Affiliated Colleges. Prof. C.R. Muthukrishnan, for Deputy Director of IITM, Chennai and Shri. A.K. Pattabiraman, Head of Accreditation from TCS were the resource persons of the programme.
14. Faculty Development Programme on “Knowledge Management” and “Industry Practices” was organized on December 22, 2007 at TCS, Karaipakkam, Chennai Centre. Faculty members from the four MBA programmes of Pondicherry University participated in the programme and benefited.
15. Sponsorship to the tune of Rs. 1,30,000.00 from TCS and CTS for Recursion 2008.
