The Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF), Pondicherry University, Puducherry is organising a three-day workshop on UV-VIS-NIR, FTIR and Emission Spectroscopy between February 27-29, 2008. The objective of this workshop is to address the needs of researchers in the fields of Physical, Chemical, and Biological Sciences by acquainting them with latest trends and applications of UV-VIS-NIR, FTIR and Emission Spectroscopy and to give them a demonstration / hands-on training on our UV-VIS-NIR, FTIR and Emission Spectroscopy instruments for its optimum utilization.

Programme: The workshop will have two sessions for three days of February 27-29, 2008:

Session I Theory 9.00 A.M. – 1.00 P.M.
Session II Lab work: 2.00 P.M. – 5.00 P.M.

Registration: Participation will be through advance registration by submitting the enclosed form on or before 11-02-2008.

Intake: In order to have an effective interaction, the intake of the workshop will be restricted to 40 on first come first served basis. M. Phil. & Ph. D. scholars, faculty members of Pondicherry University and affiliated institutions of Pondicherry University only are eligible to apply for workshop.

Deadline: The last date for receiving the registration forms is 11.02.2008. Forms which are incomplete will not be accepted.

Note : Due to paucity of funds, no TA/DA can be provided and the out station participants are to make their own arrangements for accommodation. However, they will be provided working lunch and tea during the program.
