MBA Banking Technology
The Department of Banking Technology
came into existence to offer a specialized
M.B.A programme in Banking Technology
from the academic year 2005 -06. The UGC
has sanctioned this programme under its
Innovative/Interdisciplinary schemes of
10th plan funding to be offered jointly by
School of Management and Ramanujan
School of Mathematics and Computer
Science.
MBA (Banking Technology) is a specialized
inter-disciplinary programme primarily
focused on developing manpower with knowhow
and know-why skills regarding
management of technology used in the bank
and finance industries.
More specifically, this programme is aimed at:
- Imparting skills and knowledge required
to manage modern business enterprises
involved in the Finance and Banking
companies involved in providing Banking
solutions.
- Designing and developing learning skills
in the fields of data management, data
warehousing, information gateways,
finance networks, e-commerce,
information security, IT laws ad Cyber
crimes in addition to strategies involved
in implementing Computer Networks, IT
infrastructure management and
Information system Audit.
- Providing the basic knowledge on the
working of financial markets, banking operations, stock market operations,
Forex market, capital flows, arbitrage
operations and derivative instruments,
working of euro currency markets for
possible global exposure on the working

Financial networks.

Eligibility Criteria
A candidate who has secured 55% marks or above in any one of
the following or equivalent is eligible to apply. B.Tech/B.E. in
Computer Science & Engineering/Information Technology (or) M.C.A.
(or) B.Sc Computer Science (or) B.C.A (or) any degree with PGDCA
Entrance Examination
Candidates are admitted based on all India level entrance examination
conducted by the University followed by group discussion and personal
interviews. This entrance test is similar to that of any standard all
India management admission tests (Onlines of CAT/MAT/GMAT) with objective type questions. Stress
is relatively high in the areas of mathematics and computer science
subjects.
