The College works for a minimum of 90 days
in a Semester and classes are conducted on all
the week days. If necessary special classes
can be held on weekends owing to time
constraints. The minimum contact class hours
for a paper will be around 60 hours.

is around 60 hours. In that sense, all courses

teachers and the students.
Attendance
The courses taught in the Community College
are of technical nature that require continuous
learning and undivided attention on the
subjects. The College believes that regular
attendance in the class and constant interaction
with faculty can widen the mental horizon and
knowledge of students. Therefore, the College
requires the students to attend all the theory
and practical classes regularly. Wherever this
is not possible each student should earn at
least 75% of attendance in each of the
papers individually, failing which he/she
will not be permitted to appear for the end
semester examinations. 17
Post Graduate, Diploma and Certificate
programmes also follow the same norms.
Further, the attendance earned by a student is
taken into consideration for internal
assessment (5 marks out of 25 marks in each
paper). The above 5 marks are awarded as
follows:
For attendence
| Below 75 % of attendance | – | No marks |
| 76 % to 80% | - | 1 Mark |
| 81% to 85% | - | 2 Marks |
| 86% to 90% | - | 3Marks |

courses are evaluated on the basis of external
assessment only. Even then the students are

(b) For PG Diploma, Diploma and Certificate
programmes, the students admitted to various
courses are evaluated with a maximum of 100

for End Semester External Examinations and
